Mobile
Push notifications (mobile)
Expo push tokens, categories, and tap handling.
Mobile push uses Expo Notifications, registered against the Relay.
Setup
- The app acquires an Expo push token and creates an Android notification channel on sign-in.
- It requests the notification permission and registers the token with the Relay, along with category preferences.
- Without
EXPO_PUBLIC_EAS_PROJECT_ID, registration is skipped silently. - On sign-out the token is removed from the Relay.
Categories
| Category | Notifies about |
|---|---|
conflicts | New conflicts needing resolution |
deviceOffline | A node or device went offline |
syncComplete | A backup/sync finished |
Delivery
The Relay sends notifications through Expo using EXPO_PUSH_ACCESS_TOKEN.
Tapping a notification opens the Activity tab.
Requirements
The Relay must be configured with EXPO_PUSH_ACCESS_TOKEN, and the build must
include Firebase/google-services.json for the Android channel. See
Configuration.
